WARNING!!!!!!!: these converters are NOT aproved or checked by any means for instance by TUV etc!! Use at your own discretion and risk, i am in no way responsible for using them in any environment!
I managed to get truss clamps cheap, but doing things on a budget means: you end up with all types of truss clamps that do not fit the truss pipe size we have.
Instead of reselling or letting them collect dust, a couple of converters can easily be printed to use them anyway. Ofcourse, they can't carry the full load, but they sure are well enough to handle a par (weighing 1kg at most for the largest ones) or a moving head. The LED movingheads do not weigh much more than 1.5 or 2kg either.
For anything over 5kg a well fitting clamp really should be used.
Be that as it may, it might help in a pinch to print these converters if you just have to put up a couple of par lights!
These black plastic truss clamps can handle up to around 35 kg and are even designed to handle converters!

The max. weight is merely up to the pipe they are attached to.
Without converters the pipe size is 50mm. But they come standard with converters to 38mm already even. The design for these converters was easy to duplicate:
The ones i have are of the type that global truss has and are called 'global truss heavy duty'. Mine are not global truss, but are alike:
The idea here is to retain the capability as much as possible, but to keep the clamp from rotating.
This converter does just that: it enabled the clamp to be used on smaller pipe sizes without rotating.
When in use, the converter is put on the bottom part, so it only serves as a clamp preventing rotation but does not have a load bearing function.
They are designed much like the ones above for chauvet, the middle part allows for the hinge to close. The rims are for easy installment, they keep the converter in place while fastening the clamp.
I didn't do any load testing on them yet. Once i do i will post the results here. If you have any data on this, i'd love to know about it! The email for this is available on the main page
At this time, the available sizes are:
